Matteo Antonini elected as syndicom's new president
The annual national delegate assembly of trade union syndicom took place on June 17 at Bierhübeli in Bern.
Matteo Antonini, hitherto head of the Logistics Sector, has 15 years of trade union experience in various organisations, regions and positions. He fully supports syndicom's policy of changing the workplace for the better through collective labour agreements and their practical implementation and monitoring. In his speech, he thanked the 30,000 members and 140 employees for their commitment, without which it would not be possible to actively shape the working conditions of tens of thousands of employees. Matteo Antonini, himself from Ticino, supports a trade union that is rooted in all regions of Switzerland and caters to the needs of members at the local level.
Daniel Münger, who handed over the presidency today, has worked for syndicom and its predecessor GEKO for 20 years. His term is associated with new collective labour agreements in the Bicycle Courier, Contact and Call Centre and Network Infrastructure sectors, some of which have already been declared generally binding. He put his heart and soul into promoting syndicom as a trade union for public service. syndicom will continue to focus on collective labour agreements and their further development under Matteo Antonini.
The delegate assembly also discussed various requests and business matters. In addition to financial matters such as the balance sheet and budget, this included the review of a pilot project for jobless insurance for the self-employed. And last but not least, Anja Bachmann was elected to the central board for IG Frauen.
