Sunrise UPC and syndicom negotiate new CLA and increase total payroll by 1.8% for 2021/2022

Sunrise UPC and syndicom agree on a new CLA focusing on independent time management and a self-determined way of working. Following standardization of the terms of employment, all Sunrise UPC employees will receive new employment contracts from the middle of August 2021. These will come into effect on January 1, 2022. The base payroll for the years 2021 and 2022 will increase by a total of 1.8%.

After completing the restructuring process, Sunrise UPC worked closely with the syndicom union to harmonize and positively develop the terms and conditions of employment and created a new collective labor agreement (CLA) within this framework, which will be valid for the next three years.

Harmonizing the terms of employment
Along with the harmonization of the terms of employment, the different remuneration systems will be standardized and employees will receive a new employment contract. With the total payroll increase of 1.8% for the years 2021 and 2022, Sunrise UPC also recognizes the important work of the employees during the coronavirus pandemic in a difficult market environment.

The new CLA makes provisions for the «New Way of Working
The new CLA focuses on the «New Way of Working» as devised by the company with support from syndicom and regulates independent time management as well as self-determined working, subject to legal conditions.

An important step on the path to becoming Switzerland's most modern employer
André Krause, CEO of Sunrise UPC, sees this as another important milestone in the integration process: «The new, standardized wage structure and the new CLA are significant aspects for our new, joint company that help pave the way for us to become the most modern employer in Switzerland.»

Giorgio Pardini, syndicom Executive Board, ICT sector, emphasizes: «With the new CLA, we are strengthening the voice of Sunrise UPC employees. This participation is particularly reflected in the new working time models.»
