Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists Online Courses
As part of your IFJ membership, you now have the possibility to take part in free online courses on freedom of expression and safety for journalists organized by UNESCO.

Several of these courses were designed in partnership with the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.
These trainings are very complete and meet the challenges media workers have to face during the COVID-19 pandemic. They include topics such as disinformation and fact-checking, the legal challenges to protect access to information and journalists, or the impact of new technologies on journalism.
Through these lessons, journalists will be able to improve their reporting skills and learn from scientific experts. The role of the judiciary in ending impunity, research tools on topics related to the safety of journalists, and strategies to defend freedom of expression are included in the range of options offered in these courses.
Most of the trainings are available in English, French, and Spanish but several courses are also available in Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Hindi, and Guarani.
